Lamar Jackson Out Tyler Huntley Starts Against Browns

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson has been sidelined for Sunday’s game against the Cleveland Browns due to a sprained left ankle, head coach Jesse Minter confirmed. This absence follows a missed game after the injury occurred during a match against the Tennessee Titans on October 4. Despite hopes for a return, Jackson did not participate in practice this week, extending his time out of play. In his stead, backup Tyler Huntley, known as “Snoop,” will take the starting quarterback position. The Ravens, leading the AFC North with a 4-1 record, will rely on Huntley, who has secured victories in his last three starts, including a decisive performance against the Atlanta Falcons.
Huntley, with the highest quarterback rating and completion rate since the beginning of the 2025 season among quarterbacks with at least three starts, has proven a formidable replacement. His past performances have contributed significantly to the team’s scoring average of 33.7 points in games he started. Teammate Derrick Henry expressed confidence in Huntley’s capabilities, emphasizing the team’s goal to maintain their performance until Jackson’s return. “Of course we want L [Jackson] out there, but we also want L to be healthy and be ready whenever he’s ready,” said Henry.
The Ravens are adapting to other roster changes due to injuries, with rookie Olaivavega Ioane stepping in as center in the absence of Cam Jurgens. Jurgens, suffering from a concussion, remains under close observation while Ioane covers the critical position. As the team prepares to face the Browns without Jackson, Coach Minter emphasized the considered decision-making aimed at protecting Jackson’s health and ensuring his long-term presence on the field.
