Lamar Jackson Ruled Out Tyler Huntley to Start for Ravens

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson will not play in Sunday night’s game against the Atlanta Falcons due to a left ankle injury. Coach Jesse Minter confirmed on Friday that Jackson, who injured his ankle in last week’s win over the Tennessee Titans, had not practiced all week and was seen wearing a protective boot. This will be Jackson’s first missed game of the season.

In Jackson’s absence, backup quarterback Tyler Huntley will start. Huntley, who had a 2-0 record as a starter last season, is trusted to perform well. “We have a ton of confidence in [Huntley] to play really well,” Minter stated. Wide receiver Rashod Bateman also expressed confidence in Huntley’s capabilities, noting his previous success in games without Jackson.

The team also announced that outside linebacker Trey Hendrickson would miss the game due to recent finger surgery. This marks another significant absence for the Ravens, as Hendrickson is one of the highest-paid players on the team. The Ravens aim to continue their strong start to the season and improve to a 4-1 record, which would be their best start since 2021.
